Terms of Service
Last updated: June 9, 2025
Acceptance
By using RepoGrade you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
What RepoGrade does
RepoGrade is a free tool that analyzes publicly available GitHub repository metadata and files to produce an objective quality score. Scores are deterministic and based solely on the presence or absence of specific files and signals — they are not endorsements or editorial opinions.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Automate or script requests to the grading API at a rate that degrades service for other users.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, circumvent, or attack our infrastructure.
- Use RepoGrade to make false or misleading claims about a repository's quality.
Scores and accuracy
RepoGrade scores reflect our rubric at the time of the scan. They are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute a professional assessment. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of scores for any particular purpose. Scores can change as our rubric evolves or as repositories change.
Third-party content
RepoGrade accesses publicly available data via the GitHub API. We are not affiliated with GitHub, Inc. Repository names, descriptions, and content belong to their respective owners.
Service availability
RepoGrade is provided free of charge and on an “as-is” basis. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice.
Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, REPOGRADE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Limitation of liability
WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE REPOGRADE.
Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
